Pours a nice clear amber from a can. Grassy and bitter but some sweet malt notes in the mouth. Good beer.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a golden color with a sly transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace to fill a semi-fizzy to foamy little white head. Not much lace.
The aroma had some sweet malty bready notes, light grassy hops, some lemon/citrusy notes and a subtle floral quality underneath.
The flavor leaned sweet with a gentle hoppiness coming about. Sweet clean aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about light bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, I didn’t mind this one. Would be better with some Summer food, by the grill and that sort of thing.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruggedly dark brown color close to black with an off white foamy head that gently dissipated and left some stringy lace all around.
The aroma had a nice blend between some caramel to toffee to coffee beans to a light cocoa beans. Some toast, roasty nuts and then some breadiness and molasses.
The flavor tries to blend all of the previously mentioned flavors together but ends up taking in some dark fruits and ultimately seems fairly good. Sweet oatiness is also there. Oats, bread, caramel and coffee beans blend in on the aftertaste and then running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation melds to the malts to lay down an exceptionally smooth and quaint silky feel along my tongue.
Overall, drinks like a porter, hard to believe it’s a stout, but hey, I think I could come back to this. Quite interesting.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-dark ruddy brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a fair pace. Moderate stringy lace.
The aroma had some soft nutty sweet malts playing with some caramel and toffee malty richness. Lively milk chocolate comes in to score and then some vanilla and coconut also slide in there.
The flavor yields to the sweetness of all of the previously mentioned aromas. A gentle smooth transition from aftertaste to finish crosses those sweet levels of the aromas.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, nicely done brown ale that held up to now. I’d have this again.

Bottled November 2016. Pours a near-black brown from a bottle, almost non-existent head. Smells like coffee and pumpernickel toast, flavor adds chocolate into the mix. Good beer.

Pours a brown from a bottle with an off-white head. Coffee aroma, similar flavor with a little coconut, slightly bitter but also with caramel sweetness. Good beer.

Pours a copper/brown from a bottle. Not much of an aroma, bready, maybe a little diacetyl. Same kind of nothing flavor, maybe wintergreen for some reason. Thin. Hmm, this is a little strange.
