Colored dark brown, amber. 1 finger head and fades fast. Aroma is interesting. a bit of wood, penny and some moldy pineapple. Tastes like copper penny. the finish is like turpentine and shoe polish. man, I can’t get through his tinny pour.

650 ml bottle (as pictured) purchased at Georgios Billerica, MA. Hazy, dirt gold color thin head in a snifter. Aroma is rather herbal with a decent amount of earthiness and rounds out with some sweeter malt.

The base of the brew has some dusty wheat follow by the earthy character that was noticed in the nose. Pale malts through the center leading into a light pine bitterness. After sipping 12 oz. of this brew I realized it was rather easy to drink but was a duplicate of approximately 200 other IPA’s I have sampled. Nothing to really give it an identity of its own.

Got in a BIF from ZebraCakez. 22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled in 11/2014. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, floral, grass, pine, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, floral, grass, pine, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Good amount of herbal/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, pine, herbal, floral, grass, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with and very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good earthy hopped black IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Thanks to a buddy for bringing this one over. Bomber, bottled recently. golden yellow pour with a small head that fades fast. Nose is slightly bitter, some C-hops very american, a slight banana nose with some wheat and pepper. Bread-like with some peppercorn and graham cracker. Slight pine resin, the finish is pretty chill.
