Deep brown with a beige head. Malty, chocolate, bread, and some light sweetness. The rye isn’t very noticeable but slightly more so in the flavor than aroma. Finish is malt and a carbonated bite. Solid brown.

26th May 2015: one of six on a flight at the brewpub. Golden pour, white head. Nice blend of aromas and flavours. Semi-sweet maltiness just about wins out against the fruity and piny hop notes.

26th May 2015: one of six on a flight at the brewpub. Golden with a white topping. Hops all the way here, citrusy and fruity, yet not too bitter or ’over the top’ like so West Coast brews.

26th May 2015: one of six on a flight at the brewpub. Copper hue to the golden pour, on top a wispy white covering. Malts rule the nose and flavour, some fruit elements keep it interesting. The sweetness of the malts is almost equalled by the hop content and the beer has a nice balance for someone with a sweet tooth like me.

26th May 2015: one of six on a flight at the brewpub. Murky brown, purple haze look, no head. This according to the blurb on the tasting card is their regular Beach Blond which has been aged for 9 months in Red Wine barrels, they mentioned Brett too. It works if you like sour beers, it ruined a basic blond if you do not like sour beers. I thought it interesting but I am not a sour puss: scored objectively.
