It had a nice clear golden color, with no head. There was but a faint aroma of cereal grains. The taste was akin to putting a 9v battery to your tongue, stinging and flavorless. I bought it as part of the variety six pack from the brewer at my local grocer. I was impressed by the others in the pack, but this was clearly generic filler. Maybe I just don’t like lager.

The bouquet was particularly strong and fruity hops dominate. The pour lacked any sort of head and was a pleassant red tinted gold. The flavor was well hopped, a bit yeast, and stayed a little too long.

Very dark color for a brown ale. The pour produced no head despite my best efforts. It had a pronounced and delightful aroma, more typical of a stout. Unlike a stout however, it was not heavy or thick. It bears quite a resemblance to Sam Adams Black Lager, which I rated recently. The flavor is much more smoky and finishes with a nice hop kiss. I was very pleased. Brewed locally, I can get it in the local Farm Fresh grocery store.

Bottle, can be found at World Market locations. Pours nearly dark, pitch black. Roasted malts, with choclate and smokey flavors. Very smooth and has a nice sweet and dry finish.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Very cloudy amber golden with a small, off-white head. Fat, citric hop aroma. Medium-bodied, lightly sweet caramel notes, but predominantly fairly dry, citric and hoppy. A nice, light IPA. 120207

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin and fast disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of grass. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of grass and straw, leading to a dry hoppy and bitter end, but the body is thin.

A hazy dark amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, and brewing mash, as well as lighter notes of nuts, leading to a slightly hop bitter end. An OK beer, but to me it lacks some character.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Comes as "St. George Nut Brown Ale". Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Nutty aroma. Fairly light-bodied with flavours of nuts and milk chocolate. Dry finish without any bitterness. Thin. 191206

A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is very sweet with notes of toasted bread, leading to a rather dry end.

Bottle from beer swap 2.0 - finally got around to trying this - sorry to say that I’m not all that impressed - moderate hop aroma, with some overly sweet, chewing gum smell, almost like juicy fruit (yea, odd, I know) - that quality carries over to the flavor as well, and is rather off-putting - I’ve never been a fan of fuggles hops, and their abundance here is only a negative for me - quite bitter, yet still fairly sweet in the finish, giving it balance, if nothing else.
