Welcome to the page of Brouwerij-Stokerij Pirlot. actively brewing and distilling quality beverages since 1998.

Midden jaren ‘80 begon Guy Pirlot met zijn hobby in de keuken van moeder de vrouw. De brouwer werd in de loop der tijd steeds meer door zijn omgeving om de oren geslagen met uitspraken als: “amai, daar moet ge meer mee doen” of “waarom verkoopt ge dat goddelijk spul niet” of nog “waarom begint ge geen brouwerij”…. Uiteindelijk wisten ze hem ervan te overtuigen om het bier ook te laten proeven door een groter publiek. In 1998 werden dan de nodige paperassen in orde gebracht en … een nieuwe commerciële hobbybrouwerij was geboren. Eerst werd er gebrouwen bij André Paeleman. Ook dit werd op de duur niet meer haalbaar en de volledige productie verhuisde naar de Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi.

De volgende stap naar een volwaardige eigen brouwerij was ietsje moeilijker om te zetten. Een locatie werd uiteindelijk gevonden in 2007 in de Heistraat in Zandhoven. Na 3 jaar van administratieve beslommeringen werd de goedkeuring om een brouwerij te starten dan uiteindelijk toch bekomen in 2010. De nodige contracten werden afgesloten en de renovatie van de oude hoeve en de bouw van het nieuw gedeelte kon aanvangen in de lente van 2011 zodat de eerste bieren in september uit de brouwketels stroomden.

In mei 2020 vond een fusie plaats van Het Nest en Pirlot, maar beide brouwerijen blijven onafhankelijk van elkaar opereren.

F: big, yellowish, medium stable. C: dark brown, hazy, opaque. A: malt, dried fruits, dark fruits, cherries, brown sugar, chocolate, hint of yeast, cinnamon, ginger. T: malty, chocolate, dark fruits, plums, some fruity sour disturbing tones, hint of coffee, hint of yeast, medium body, medium carbonation, not good balanced, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.

F: thin, white, quick gone. C: gold, hazy. A: malt, some pepper, gingerbread, light sugary, herbal, juniper. T: in the taste is juniper much more noticeable, herbal, light green banana, pear, citrus, perfume, medium body, good carbonation, interesting and for me also tasty beer, bottled 20/02/2014, BB: 20/02/2017, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.

F: big, off-white, good retention. C: orange amber, hazy. A: malt, woody, sour tones, vinous, hint of barnyard, lemon. T: malt, woody, light sourness, hint of lemon, apple vinegar, vinous, peach, hint of barnyard, spicy, medium to full body, medium carbonation, velvety mouthfeel, much better beer than “Kempisch Vuur Winter”-blue label which is alias for “Kerstvuur (2011-)” unbelievable difference, very good balanced, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.

T: malt, spicy, orange, peach, coriander, candy sugar but not very sweet, yeast, floral, creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation, good but nothing special. 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.

F: big, off-white, not long lasting. C: dark gold, hazy, with a lot of big yeasty debris floating in. A: malt, orange, apricot, coriander, banana, hint of ginger, apple, alcohol. T: malt, overripe fruits, figs, banana, peach, coriander, spicy, alcohol, yeasty, light bready, apparently the same experience as in Alengrin rate this is unbalanced winter brew not worth to try, bottled 2 years before BB: 02/10/17, tasted as “Kempisch Vuur Winter”-blue label, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.

F: big, white, good retention. C: dirty gold, hazy, opaque. A: malt, orange peels, light citrus, spicy, hint of grapefruit, yeast. T: malt, grapefruit bitterness, orange peels, spicy, herbal, hint of funky, medium body, good carbonation, quite bitter for Belgian ale but I like it, it is almost 3 years in the bottle, BB: 10/01/17, 75cl bottle from Prik&Tik/Quali-drinks/ in Brussels.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is bretty, toffee, funk, chocolate, berries, taste is dry, funky, light roasted chocolate, flat.

dar brown colour, one inch dense, though not too stable beige-ish head; aroma of Bordeaux wine, sour cherry juice, dried sour cherry bonbon with dark chocolate and some woody-earthy notes; taste is sourish with dry red wine, sour cherry and dark chocolate notes; quite unusual stoud, but really enjoyable

Bottle shared with Deanso. Very hazy dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of spice, yeast, light fruits, herbal notes, elderflower showing up a little and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
