Bottle at the July 2023 DC RB Tasting. Poured a light yellow-orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was light sour notes, grapefruit, light bitterness. Flavor was light sour, funky notes.

Grapefruit and cheese crackers, almost like Ritz. Dark amber pour with ok head. Crisp sour finish. Interesting vibe here. Bottle thanks to beastie.

On tap at Popeye, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is messed up, with iodine, soy sauce, harsh roast and perfumey, black vinegary barrel notes. Flavour is full of black vinegary, charred barrels, soy sauce and iodine. Like with the King Kong, the barrels here are pretty messed up. Not very good.

On tap at Mikkeller Kiosk/Bar (Tokyo), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is on the brutal side, with heavy charred roast, iodine/soy sauce, perfumey bourbon barrels, and booze. Flavour is much the same, with a rather difficult-to-palate charred, perfumey character from the interplay of the roast and bourbon. Lots of soy sauce and iodine. Either the barrels are ruining this or the base beer just isn't solid enough — or both I guess. Not infected and not even that bad, just rather harsh and difficult.
