1983 bottle with some carbonation left in it. Bottle courtesy of GRG1313. Pours with a clear, deep golden hue with a lasting white head. Aroma is musty, mostly cork, acid, apple, and rotten wood. Flavors are sweet, faded, appley, mild funk. Still lively bubbles, but the corked character makes it dead. Fun to try. We had a older Hassens that day (something from the 50s), and while flat, held its flavors much better.

Courtesy of a generous trader, vintage 1984, 26 years old
Corked bottle; under the plastic film, the ugly mold has worn some millimeters of the cork, that is printed and guarantees the name of the brewery, from Schepdaal.
Beautiful golden-copper color, bright (at least, the first glass; the second one is cloudy orange); limited carbonation, mostly without head, with little perlage.
Mild aroma, sour components, wood, light plastic, a bit corky. Not exciting, though it improves after a few minutes.
Light bodied, but with the age it probably acquired a smoother mouthfeel; the flavor is sour, very lemony; the final is dry, acidic, a bit astringent but also rather short.
I am missing some more funky elements, lacking in complexity.
It will go well with my smoked mackerel, today.

Test vom 13.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: -,11,12,12,-,12 - 11,82

Copenhagen Beer Festival. Huge thanks to Jacob (Hildigoltur) for pulling this from his cellar and sharing. Sourish woody nose. Easy going sour beer. A little acidic but nicely rounded off with a soft dry palate.

At Plan B - Copenhagen. Thanks to Kim Johansen for getting me on to this beer! Clear amber beer. A little dry on the palate. Fresh and tart. Peachy as much as it is raspberry. Remarkably fresh for it’s age - would have never have known this was 22 years old. That said I’m not getting the same swivel eyed pleasure as some out of this. Decent nontheless.

Bottle at Grote Durst, shared with Robin. Very nice duty and musty kriek, still has fruit after all these years. Amazing.

Bottle at Akkurat, vintage 1984. Hazy golden with a small white head. Very impressive funky aroma with citrus, apples, earth, hay. Very tart taste, incredibly fresh given the age. A magnificent beer! 375 SEK for a 75 cl bottle, ridiculously cheap considering what you get in the glass. I must drink this one again.

On tap at Akkurat in September 2010. (Vintage 1989) Hazy red with no head. Sweet aroma of cherries with some light funk. Very dry and refreshing to drink, no carbonation and a very light sourness. Incredible to have the possibility to drink beer like this in Stockholm, thanks to Akkurat I love you!

750 ml bottle, 1984, at Grote Dorst, shared with BigMomma. Straightforward sour with the expected funk. Still had a lively head after all these years. Well-kept and expertly served.
