Bottle from La Riviera in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a tan head. Aroma is quite bourbon with hints of dark treacle. Full bodied. Flavor is dark treacle, bourbon, mild musty wood, and chocolate. There’s minuscule heat. Really great, and I bet aging a few years wouldn’t hurt a thing. It’s pretty nice to drink.

Waxed bottle from La Riviera in Sacramento, CA. Pours opaque brown with a tan head. Aroma is rich Andy, dark treacle, bourbon/vanilla, wood, and maybe some dark too dark fruit. It’s a soothing sensation. Vanilla seems prominent. Med + body. Flavor is mild heat, bourbon/vanilla, dark treacle, not too dark fruit, with a touch of musty wood. Leaves a slight burn on the upper mouth. It also begins to suggest a bit of spice. Maybe some of that rare Caribbean sugar. Very smooth and delicious.

Bomber from La Riviera in Sacramento, CA. Pours brown with a slight, transient dark tan head. Very nice coffee aroma. Med + body. Flavor is very nice coffee, nigh espresso for me, and something like chocolate in a milk stout base. Yummy. Very light bitter. Slightly earthy. Got to wonder what it would be like imperialized.
