Dull tan. Big bubbles. No head. Dish soap lemon aroma. Lots of sugar. Lemony and sticky. Iβll give credit though - unlike Anglia Shandy this one actually has a tiny bit of beer character. Not much, just a shade of malt on the tongue, but a tiny bit of beer character nonetheless.

Nitro pour. Dark brown with deep burgundy accents. Light brown nitro cream head. The aroma is toasty with chocolate malt. Chocolatey, creamy with light coffeeish notes. Low to moderate bitterness. Some acidity in the finish. Not a scintillating beer, but competes well enough with the draught Guinness.

Very dark brown. Sugary coffee - molasses aroma. Sweet, full of molasses notes. Some underlying dark malt complexity. Decent foreign stout, but unspectacular.

Canned. Deep gold colour. No head. Strange appley aroma. Flat-tasting, with paint notes, plastic and other random unpleasantries.

Can. A light golden beer with no head. The aroma is sweet like a sodapop, while the flavor is very sweet - artificially. Very shandy like.

650ml bottle @ EBF 2008. Dark reddish brown, almost black body with a thin beige head. Aroma is a lot of mocha with some bitter maltyness. Flavor is slightly roasted malt with some chocolate and liquorices. A quite light body actually make this beer quite quaffable.

Can, 32cl. Itβs quite lovely to look at, with itβs black body and dense, tan head. The aroma isnβt as good as last sample, but still nice, with tar, roasted malts and a touch of alcohol. Sort of boring actually. The flavor is roasted, with toffee and coffee, more acidic than the Malaysian Guinness Foreigh Export Stout I just had. Smooth, creamy, warming and a bit thin on the palate. Coffee and toffee in the end. A quite nice one, but it certainly was better last time I had it. Rating: 6-4-6-3-13-3.2. 110107
Bottle, 65cl, at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. It pours a next to black body, really, really dark brown, topped by a small, tan head. Mocha, chocolate and roasted malt in a nice blend in the aroma. The flavor has some fruityness and sweetness as well as roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa and a touch of licorice. Full-bodied and quite dry in the mouth, with a pleasant carbonation. Licorice, roasted malt and coffee in the finish. Not the first beer to expect from Malaysia, but certainly a good one. 080912

Black with a small off-white head. Aroma of toffee, licorice and caramel. Rich, roasted flavour, but quite simple and one-dimensional.

Served a bit too chilled from a bottle at the Carlsberg Bar, European Beer Festival 08. Deep dark, rusty coloured body under a thin, brownish head. Sweet aroma of brown sugar. As it warms the flavour releases coffee notes followed by bittersweet chocolate, but not enough to counter the sweetness. A bit metallic in the mouth, but well hidden alcohol (12.09.2008).
