Description
WAYFINDER BEER is a new brewery project in Portland, Oregon. We have transformed a 8,900 square feet of a century-old brick warehouse in Portland's Central Eastside into a classic destination for beer and food lovers.

Wayfinder is the brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah's Pit and La Taq). Our mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.

Guests to Wayfinder will find enjoyment in our 110-seat taphall, or outside on our massive patio. Our menu of handcrafted comfort food features deliciousness from a custom wood-fired grill. We're using our four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse to create world-class lagers and ales for onsite enjoyment and wholesale distribution.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated January 31, 2025.
Aroma is malt forward with lots of toasted bread, caramel, toffee and hints of chocolate, roast and nuts. Light notes of prune, raisin, and dried cherries. Hints of herbal, woody hops and alcohol.
Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium large, thick, pillowy, light mocha head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and faint legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with lots of toasted bread, caramel and toffee. Lighter chocolate with hints of roast and nuts. Medium bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Notes of raisin, prune, dried cherries and dried berries. Light herbal, woody hop notes.
Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid dark lager. Really nice malt notes that have great complexity between the fruit, the toasted notes, the caramel and the chocolate. A bit more bitter than I was expecting but it works.

Aromas have lots going on with lumber, citrus, MJ, resin, hostess and sweat. Flavors are similar to nose they're not as intense or varied. More bitter up front with a mild sweet finish. Body is a little light with okay carbonation. Not bad, not great.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of toasted chestnuts, followed by bready malt and some caramel. Flavour is very malty, with toasted caramel, bready malt, chestnuts, and some toffee. Not too much sweetness, with a nice nutty finish. Nice stuff.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a large white head that laced somewhat. Dankness wafts from the pour. Med body. It's dank and a little juicy. Malt is well subdued. Dry and more than moderately bitter. It's dank and has mixed fruit - passion fruit, melon and maybe nectarine. Extremely good flavor.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Bright honey gold color. Large, frothy beige head. Sweet, earthy malt aroma. Sweet malt flavor has some fruitiness upfront. This is one smooth sip. Some breadiness in middle. Finish brings herbal, noble hops that provide a delicate balance. This is a great tasting beer, but lacking in color and texture for the Vienna style.

Aromas are dark malt, roast, cocoa. Flavors are similar to nose. I like a traditional London Porter because it's not too sweet. Good body and slightly crisp carbonation. Very nice satisfying beer.
