Panda split at MBCW '22 (Morbid Beer Celebration Watford), thank to SHIG, 13/05/22. Light hazed on a pale yellow pour with a white cap that settles to a swirl. Nose is grass, pale malts, herb, grains. Taste comprises lemon zest, herb, grains, straw, papery tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable country scope.

Sample, thanks to Grumbo. Shared with blackhaddock at our rare country / region mega tasting afternoon April 2022. Some sediment, which is strange for a lager. Lightly sweet, tastes light, a touch watery, some mild sweet grain. Ok

26th April 2022. Mega tasting with minutemat, pushing our countries, regions and brewery stats higher. 'Panda' via Grumbo. Golden body, white head, watery, weak and not really 'The Pride of Malawi' surely? Anyway country number 159 for me on RateBeer.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, grain, cardboard. Taste is sweetish, malt, grains, grassy, with cardboardy bitterness. Light bodied, high carbonation, drying metallic bitter finish. Another bland pale lager.

5/2/2022. Bottle shared by Erik, huge thanks. Pours clear dark gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet, malt, cardboard, grain, caramel, sweet fruit. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily watery texture, average carbonation. Sadly not very special.

Beers of the World country 120: Malawi 🇲🇼
"Hard to tell anything about colour as I drank it from the bottle. It was normally carbonated and instantly reminded me of some of the African beers I’ve had before. Very little taste but some notes of malt does exist before finishing slightly more sweet. A typical African lager!" - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com
