Bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a small, creamy beige head with lacing. Aroma is distinct but not overdone dark caramel, toast and a bit nutty. Flavor is sweet, roasted caramel, toast and balancing bitterness. Fine body and smooth, distinct caramel aftertaste. Nice and well made classic brown ale, very food friendly as well.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Trondheim Bankkvartalet. The oily pour reveals a coal black body under a firm fawn-coloured head leaving lacing at the upper part of the glass. Inviting aromas of slightly smoked dark chocolate malts. Malt-driven taste profile of coffee and chocolate. Smooth bittersweet, roasted finish. Full bodied. Nice sipper. (Hotel room, Trondheim 15.09.2019).

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Sentrum Tromsø. A creamy beige head with fine retention over a deep rosewood coloured body. Fair lacing. Slightly roasted earthy malts on the nose, mid-sweet. Dark caramel flavours joined by bread-like malts and backdrop of leafy hops. Rounded mouth feel. Food friendly, in fact, with shrimps. Likable. (Tromsø 07.09.2019).

Bottle, at Brasserie Posten. 2018 vintage. An unclear brown beer with a reddish tint. A small beige head forms on top. The aroma has quite a lot of dried fruits, with caramel, some brown sugar, hints of alcohol and a touch of grassy, piney hops. It's full bodied, sweet, quite warming and nicely carbonated, still smooth on the palate, with a light bitterness bringing some balance to the accounts. Caramel, dried fruits and some roasted malts have company of brown sugar, chocolate and a touch of coffee in the flavor. Alcohol too. Lasting finish. A very pleasant and clean quad that would probably benefit from some cellaring. 190814

On tap at Brassiere Posten. Except for a little chill haze it's a clear one, golden in color, with a finger thick white head leaving lacing. The aroma is on the fruity side, light citrus, with notes of gooseberry and pale malts. Even a faint note of herbs and pine cones. It's medium to full bodied, a bit sweet for a brut IPA, with a pleasant carbonation and appropriate bitterness. The flavor has some pale malts, but the hops run the show, citrus, gooseberries, hints of rhubarb, and some pine cones and grass. Lasting hoppy finish. Not the brutest IPA I've had, but it was a tasteful and pleasant beer for sure. 190814

Bottle. It's a lightly hazy chestnut colored beer with a small beige head. The aroma is roasted, nutty and very lightly chocolatey, with a touch of freshly fired gun powder. It's medium bodied and semi-dry, with a soft and pleasant carbonation. A light bitterness in the back of the flavor, with roasted malts, toffee and bread crust. Malt driven finish too. A nice brown ale indeed, except for that gun powder thing in the aroma. 190814
