Hazy and pale amber. Lots of bitterness. A bit hazy, yeasty. Fruity hops and lots of terpenes.

Good non-alcoholic IPA. Lots of hops, bright citrus, clean malts. The way Powell makes these, they feel like they have good balance, the right amount of residual sugar.

Part of a flight at The Drake Eatery in Victoria, Vancouver Island on 14th August 2025. Dark brown with a beige wisp and collar on top. Malty front with a subtle sweetness before some hop action kicks in. Not rich or slick, it's body depth more akin to a Dunkel or Alt. Pleasant enough though.

Bright, gold, with a medium head. Nice spicy hop note. A slight chewiness to the malt, with a touch of anise. Balanced.

Gold, with just a slight haze. Medium head. Medium bitterness, with a touch of grapefruity, lots of sweet pale malt. Decent golden IPA.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2025.05.18; Oakes says this is a private company label over the regular Powell Lager). Hazed yellow with small white head. Bland, watery, corn malt, bleh.

473mL can. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Skunky malts and tired grass on the nose. Flavour has skunky malts and dead grass. Absolutely atrocious.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty washed out, with straw and a little cardboard. Flavour is dry, with lots of straw, toasted grains, and a tiny hint of hops. Clean and drinkable but ultimately uninteresting.

This looks really dull. Lifeless, no head. Aroma of citrusy hops, grapefruit, some pine. Quite carbonated. Fairly bitter, off-dry. But it comes across like a non-alcoholic with some grapefruit flavouring.

Flight pour at the brewery. Pours clear gold with an off-white head. Faint malts and grass on the nose. Flavour has bread crust, dried grass. Tired and uninteresting.
