Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy blond colour. Mild arom aof stone fruit. Lean mouthfeel, it's fairly dry, the malt/oat base doesn't deliver, the hopping is very mild, just traces of peach, and although the bitterness is low, there is a liht feeling of pith.
Modest.

473mL can, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is rather restrained, but brings out a nice, clean piney hop character, with crisp biscuity malt to back. Flavour is clean, crisp and assertive, with a nice grassy, piney hop bite upfront, and a crisp biscuity malt backbone. Biting, somewhat spicy, and crisp, though the body is a bit thin. Overall, clean, amply bitter and crisp. Solid.

473mL can, pours black with a large, is cascading tan head. Aroma is hearty, with lots of oats, dry cocoa, and moderately roasted malt. Flavour is robust, with a very nice, deeply roasted malt base, hearty oats, some dark cocoa, and moderate sweetness to back. This is surprisingly deep and rich given the style and brewery. Clean, robust, and beautifully integrated. Impressive oatmeal stout.

Very nice jet black body and okay medium beige foam. Nice coffee on the nose with soft motor oil hints and vague cookie. Taste is bitter molasses, sweet coffee, chewy motor oil lingers. Really nice, thick and snappy in all the right places.

Pours a deep slushee purple and has okay bright pink foam. Nice blueberry on the nose, citrusy and tempered by grain character. Taste is more blueberry juice, slightly tart, soft lemon notes and finishing with a sweet tang. Not bad, could use more beer character though.

Cloudy yellow body and okay foam. Nice citrusy hop aroma, slight grass and melon rind. Taste is lemon rind, chalky hops, ending a little wet. Working really well, quite refreshing, decent.

Can. Hazy pale amber, quite effervescent (looks like it was released a while ago) and with a big rocky head. I'd say the carbonation and head make this look a lot better, since the haze is that murky sort that doesn't look good. On the nose it's super bretty; there's really not much else. On the palate, there's good brett and bad phenols that are getting kicked off somewhere along the fermentation path. The brett hasn't eaten those yet. There's still a bit of caramellish kind of malt. Not much hop, aside from a mild bitterness. So it's a beer that didn't go right and the brett is there to salvage it? It almost does. I mean, it's drinkable. Just not optimal because the faults are still there.
