Draft at OF. Sconnie Mexican Maibock..enter the danger zone. Fitlered amber-tan color. Malty aroma, a touch of alcohol. Hmm. Not so bad. Lots of Ale-like fruity tones, which sort of cover up or replace the lager yeast tones. Doesn’t cover the alcohol well at all, comes off quite harsh. Almost pepperminty at times, just lacks any semblance of subtlety. Not far from being an undrinkable mess.

Draft at OF. Unfiltered, thick orange tan color. Minimal oily head. I don’t get much aroma, maybe a hint of citrusy hops. The barrel aging really twists this one up. Big oaky flavors, almost buttery at times. Could benefit from a heavier hop dosage. Awkward product, very amateur. Pungent yeast and alcohol tones make this pretty undrinkable. Fruity and odd. Lots of off flavors.

Draft at Old Fashioned. Thin, oily head on top of a hazy golden tan color. Watery and grainy, with a hint of dirty six row. All around unimpressive, lacks much character. The six row gives it an almost malty taste..almost. Pretty weak. Mild soap in the background.

Draft at Old Fashioned. Rather thin yellow-orange, transparent. Thin, soapy non-head. Dry citrus aroma. Soapy, quite bitter. Dry grapefruit tones, rather one-dimensional. Thin, toasty malt background. Drinkable, but not that impressive. Lacks depth, despite solid bitterness.

Draft at Old Fashioned. Thick, just about opaque red-brown. Thin, steady, oily head. Nice aroma, thick sugary malt and mild hops. Rich, big taste, but the body comes off a little watery. Odd mixture.

Draft at the OF. Hazy unfiltered amber-red. Smooth caramel and amber seawater malt aroma. A rather well balanced beer, with a nice soapy, earthy hop edge. Smooth malt tones, sessionable and not too sticky or pungent. The rye gives accentuates the earthy, woody tastes. Nice beer.

11th October 2008. GABF. My second favourite beer name of the fest after ’Knob Smoker’! Clear dark brown beer. Very dry toffee malt with a little hop back kick. The palate is too dry by far. At least it didn’t taste like it was made with verrucas :)

Draft at the OF. Amber-red-brown color. Patchy oily head. Sweet and deep malt aroma. Very sweet taste, some oddly pungent flavors alongside the brown sugar stickiness and mild soapy hops. A little off stylistically, a touch thin, with a an odd veggie aftertaste. Below par but still OK. A little too much amber malt maybe. Light raisiny touches.

Draft at OF. Opaque black with a solid foamy off-white head. Pretty solid for the style, certainly. Some lactic touches, sweet and creamy mouthfeel. Dry bitter coffee aftertaste which really holds the beer together and makes it better than average.

Draft at OF. Another herby, spiced-out "Belgian". In theory at least. Hazy light golden yellowish color. Herbal, with a non-subtle chamomile touch. Tea? Certainly leaves the White Ale realm in my opinion. Creamy, medium bodied. Smooth, different. Overall just too herb dominated.
