Description
In the beginning, in 2004, the Lupulus brewery was built to brew beers for the tavern next door. In 2007, the brewery decided to create a new beer, in kegs and in Champagne bottles.
The brewers wanted to offer a traditional beer with its own unique flavour, using modern equipment. The region where the brewery is based gave the brewers the inspiration they were looking for.
The brewery is housed in a magnificent old 19th century farm, a part of Ardennes heritage. The installation is based in the middle of surrounding green fields, beside a freshwater stream.
The historical record is sketchy, but we know that wolves populated the Ardennes landscape in olden times. Some say that these wolf-packs came from Slovenia, where the best hops in the world are cultivated...
True story? In any case, the wolf was behind the creation of a new beer: Lupulus. The name derives from the Latin name of the hop plant Humulus Lupulus, which means Small Humble Wolf.

Straw blond colour with light haze. Aroma is very floral, almost perfumed. Taste has a nice hop bitterness. Grassy, green apple peel, citrus zest. Decent level of bitterness.

Bottle fro Begian pack donated by good friend. Color is murky orange golden with medium white head. Aroma of malt, citrus hops with mainly oranges. Taste starts malty quickly overlapped by citrus hops with oranges, zest, together with fruity esters and spices. Dry finish. Good, refreshing beer. I don't care about style this time.

very hazy pale yellow colour, large, though not too dense white head; aroma of pineapple, mango, litchi, green tea, lemony and orange peel notes; taste is quite hoppy-bittery with similar fruity and citrusy notes as can be felt in the aroma and spicy-horseradish-like aftertaste; good one

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours cloudy chestnut brown with airy butbstable beige head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and yeast, with fruity hints. Bitter, hoppy onset, giving rise to sweetish notes of fruit and malt and estery touches. Bitter and estery aftertaste with notes of caramel malt. Decent, if a little tame.
