Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy gold with a finely foamy white head. Aroma of peach and something that could be passion fruit. Med body. Flavor peach and passion fruit (sharp bits for me); mild light caramel support. A little juicy, not really dry dry, but fruity, hoppy, bitter and very good flavor. Good stuff.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma has a lot of citrus, but there's a bit of green melon. Med body or better. Flavor has citrus, arguably green melon, some passion fruit, and slightly roasty malt in support. There are hot bits. Not necessarily chili, but that sort of impact. Pretty dry. Hoppy. Quite bitter. Excellent.

Aged sample Head gone in seconds; pale orange-golden beer, veiled, with lazy bubbling. Fruit, passion fruit, bit of ureum, lemony. Peach, passion fruit, the hops giving a refreshing bitterness. Orangeblossom. Hop- and fruitoils (sorry), slick, bit undercarbonated, finish is a bit sticky. Quite good, hardly a sign of aging, except maybe for the low CO². Grand merci à Fred d'A en aan Mathieu!
