Quite aged sample, difficult to say if it’s already Huyghe or a Biertoren original - the brewery that launched this, and immediately went bankrupt for overinvestment Pale amber; very little bubbles for carbonation to small crème head. Oxidation nose, walnut, madeirisation, biscuit, liqueur. Very biscuity taste, cookie malt & again some liqueurish notes. Quite empty, in fact. Alcohol obvious, not burning, medium bodied, rather slick. The age seems - together with the fact that it made it into my cellar - to hint at Biertoren. The total emptiness, as well as the treacherous sticker "fast sale" speaks otherwise. I fear Huyghe after all.

Bottled (BB 10/2007)
Deep red-brown, a bit hazy, color with small tanned head. Typical Delirum-nose: malty and fruity. Medium-to-full-bodied, warming and malty. Flavor has cherries and prunes. Long bitter alcoholic aftertaste. Real winter warmer.

Bottle, also best before 2002 Murky, brown (or even gray) body. Off-white, small (due to the age (?)) head. Nose of citrus, vinegar. Moderately bitter, heavily acitic initial flavour. Lightly bitter, moderately acitic finish. Warm flavour. Medium to fully bodied. And I still like it in November 2004! :)

Bottled, St. Idesbald Triple (BB 03/2003?)
Hazy deep orange, small white head. Strong aroma of apricots, berries and yeast. Medium-bodied, malty, crisp and sour.Apricot and leather taste. Thin finish, hides alcohol quite well but this is just an average Belgium triple.

Cloudy yellow, lasting white head. Great apple nose. Apple flavor is spoiled by the spicy belgian yeasty overtones

Bottled. Golden colour, some sediment. Very sweet with some pineapple and grassy hops. Bold and sugary, but compared to the rest of Huyghe’s beers it’s fantastic...
