Tap - lightly hazy dark copper - full-bodied with a fairly round and creamy texture in the mouth - flavor is initially sweet, with notes of brown sugar, toffee, a touch of raisin - a fairly strong bitterness arrives late, along with woody hop flavors (cedar, pine) - finish is a little hot, but otherwise a decent offering.

An almost clear one, amber in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is pretty malty, with toffee and a little hint of fruityness. Not much impact from the rye I expect to have been used judging from the name of the beer. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, but not much, and there’s actually not much of anything. Medium body, semi-dry, and with a nice carbonation level. Overall, a pretty boring one, but far from bad. 140118
