Established in 1996, Old Harbor Brewery is the first Craft Micro Brewery in Puerto Rico. Since the beginning, we knew that ingredients matter that is why we use Weyerman malts, from Germany. 750ml bottle that a friend brought up to DC from the brewery. Pours a slightly viscous, oily, opaque black with some soapy, off white head. Nose is an interesting blend of wood, nail polish, some spice, a little play-doh, but also licorice, molasses, toast, Kahlua. Flavor is nice as well, well balanced, sweet malt, molasses, brown sugar, a little soap, some orange zest, some black pepper, some wood pulp, touch of booze. Full, sweet, soapy finish. Interesting. Well treated by the barrel.

Bottle shared by Jay. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of light chocolate, barley, malt and as Jay put it "chocolate covered pretzel." Lighter than medium bodied.

The palate is very light here. Hops just plain bitterness with prominent barley malt they seem to use for several beers here. Pours golden with average carbonation, medium consistency. On tap at brewpub.

Doesn’t exactly taste like a weizenbock. There’s a lot of barley here, cereal and some hops. Good head and lacing. Pours golden copper. Aftertaste bitter with a touch of funky booze. Hops prominent in aroma and some boozy sweetness. Tap at brewpub.

I preferred Coqui. Low carbonation, slight cereal with some mash malt. Finishes a bit sour with small bitter note. Sticky consistency stays on tongue. Low carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

By far the best beer at Old Harbor. Has malty aroma, lots of smoke and roast. Some dark chocolate. Aftertaste is bitter from hops and burnt malt. Toasty taste. Pours black with good lacing, good head. Average carbonation, thick consistency. Tap at brewpub.
