Located in a restored Victorian railway shed, just over 50 metres north of Ludlow railway station, the building has been fully refurbished to latest building standards and houses a 20 barrel brewing system. Ludlow Brewery produces award winning high quality ales right in the heart of the beautiful town of Ludlow.

Small batch, 'craft' forward beers are released under the name 'Derailed' on a small 2.5 barrel kit on the same premises by the same brewing team.

Tried at the Green Dragon Little Stretton. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma malty and light fruity. Taste light sweet. Medium body.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival, July 2018. Pours clear gold, small white head. Aroma is pleasant citrus, almost vanillery sweet. Light on the palate, soft citrus, pleasant blonde character. Sessionable.

Cask pint @ The Green Dragon, Little Stretton. Pours clear gold, small white head. Aroma soft floral hop, English malt. Taste is predictably light, soft pale malt, light floral, lemon hints. Ok cask golden ale.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2017. Pours amber, small off-white head. Good whiskey presence in the aroma, appearing prominent on the palate. The light malt base of Boiling Well seems to be overpowered by the whiskey barrel-aging here, and I can’t help feeling Black Knight may have been a better choice. Still, it’s decent.

19th July 2017: Shrewsbury Beer Festival, cask. Deep amber body, off-white topping. Plenty of whiskey esters in the nose, the taste is also whiskey first: not really my thing. Scored objectively.
