Description
Troy Casey began Casey Brewing and Blending in the fall of 2013 with the idea of creating a blendery (a facility that doesn’t have a brewery themselves, but still makes beer) in the Roaring Fork Valley, a place where he and his fiancé had recently decided to make their home. After searching for the perfect location for their barrel cellar, they found their current spot in South Glenwood right on the Roaring Fork River. Troy first began brewing sour and wild beer in 2009 and it quickly took over all of his brewing interest. This all culminated with the creation of Casey Brewing and Blending, a place where Troy will be able to create blends his way.

LCI. Still tasting impressive for a 10-year old honey ale. Lots of floral honey character with a residual sweetness under the funk. Clean with a nice malt whole grain balance

Aroma has notes of pickled habaneros, lemon, funk, wood. Taste is highly sour (8/10) and moderately spicy (7/10) with pickled, spicy, lemony flavors. Great flavor and aroma, but I fear drinking the whole bottle will wreck havoc on my gut. Best shared.

Bold powerful blackberry fruity prominence, medium sour, balanced with some vanilla sweetness, wooden accents, medium body, lingering blackberry and vanilla into the finish.

Pint can. pours a somewhat hazy yellow color with a ridiculous fluffy white head that has crazy lacing. The aroma is quite strong, I can smell this from across the table, I get fresh citrus, pineapple and grapefruit in particular. The taste is quite nice with fresh citrus, but not nearly as big and bold as the aroma foreshadowed. bitterness is medium. The palate is full and viscous with lively carbonation. Finished short and dry with some lingering bitter lemons. Overall: Decent--good afterwork IPA.

500 mL bottle. Pours dark brown, with a small, foamy, beige head. The nose is caramel, nutmeg, vanilla, cedar, grass, and caraway. Sweet and sugary, with a mellow, boozy finish. Medium to heavy body, syrupy, and kinda sticky. Nice enough, but a little funky.
