(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden, slightly hazy ale with an impressive, huge and very stable head. Quite sweetish and aromatic with only a vey discreet bitterness. A rather surprising and different ale which is also stronger than the typical Scottish ale. And the storytelling on these Broughton bottles is simply great. 190304

(Bottle 50 cl) This is not only black, this is black as hell - with a small, fine brownish head. Brewed with oats but smells like licorice. Lightly smoked notes from the black malt, but never burned. Some underlying chocolatey sweetness. Quite light body and actually rather refreshing and quenching. 240104

(Bottle 50 cl) Oddly enough this comes in a bottle of German-/Czech-style. And to add to itβs multinationalism itβs brewed with organic hops from New Zealand! Amber-coloured, slightly hazy, decent head. Fresh and very fruity without much bitterness. Some underlying tartness. Reminds me of a good brewpub-style lager. 010104

[At Jyske Γldage 2004, Kolding] A yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and quite perfumated.

Looks very much like an English bitter, the aroma is gentle hops with a hint of malts, and the flavour is quite strongly dry with a sweetish finish. Overall OK.

Deep ruby color with a quickly fading head. Some caramel and roasty aromas with a caramel malt flavor that finishes a little dry. The body is a bit thin and overall this is drinkable but not really exciting.

Clear orange golden color, short head. Aroma is typical of an english bitter with its english hops. Nice soft bitter taste.

An amber beer witha fine but collapsing beige head. The aroma is light, but with notes of caramel. The flavor is slightly burnt with notes of caramel and the body is thin. I was disappointed in this one.

An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty - quite boring. The flavor is sweet malty with hints of honey and a light hoppy end. All in all a boring beer.
