May 2011: 500 ml bottle, from Høkeren, Copenhagen. Batch #RØ156. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. ABV is 5.7%. The cap was not tight enough for my flight from Copenhagen to Stavanger, and about 1/4 of the beer leaked out in my suitcase. Still plenty of carbonation left in the bottle. Murky / opaque very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate tan head. Distinct roasty aroma with strong notes of coffee, also dark chocolate and liquorice, hints of wood and smoke. Medium dry flavour, again with strong notes of coffee, also liquorice, wood and dark bitter chocolate. Also a hoppy bitterness in the finish. Fairly decent beer.
