Description
18th Street Brewery in Hammond, IN is a brewpub, taproom, and bottle shop. We specialize in hand-crafted big, small, barrel-aged and even sour beers.
18th Street Brewery was founded as a home brewery by Drew Fox in 2010. After years of hands-on learning and exploration, 18th Street Brewery became official with the release of Sinister DIPA in 2013. Shortly after the Sinister release, we opened a 3,200 square foot brewpub in Gary, IN. Quickly outgrowing that space, we purchased a 32,000 square foot warehouse in Hammond, IN. Our Hammond location now houses our production, packaging, barrel program, a taproom and a full service kitchen. Our original Gary, IN now houses a small 10-barrel open fermentation system, as well as a taproom, craft cocktail bar and kitchen.
We are currently the second largest brewery in Northwest Indiana. Our beers range from saisons to double India Pale Ales to double milk stouts to pilsners and lagers. 18th Street is comprised of hard working, motivated individuals who strive to be the best. We love our jobs. We love our beer. We live and love what we do.

Hazy gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Little creamy malt, pretty dry. Trace of caramel. Hops are dry pine with a little hop spice. Mild citrus. Dry bitterish finish. Pretty drinkable but lacking a wow factor and I don’t get the grapefruit vibe at all!

65 cl bottle @ tiong, BBE 01.01.2015
Aroma is fresh with grapefruit and some orange. Also some caramel. Flavour has grapefruit, aggressive hops, orange and some citrus. Quite what it promises to be: a citrus fruit overdose. Not like it is a bad thing; finally a DIPA that I cannot blame for sweetness or unpleasant lingering hops.

Mindst holbar til 1/01/2015 - Pours orange with a tiny head. Aroma of zesty grapefruit, juicy hops, floral notes and caramely malts. Taste is juicy, floral and grapefruity with some grassy notes and caramely malts. Finish is floral and fruity with some grassy notes and caramel. Perhaps not super fresh, but still very tasty.

Aroma is sweet with tropical fruits and pineapples. Also some grapefruit and caramel. Flavour has somewhat aggressive hops, grapefruit, some caramel and gooseberry bush. Finishes with lingering hops with herbs and grapefruit. Also some gluey tones after some sips. Still, well bodied and balanced DIPA, almost too sweet though.

650ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orangey dark golden to amber colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit, orange, tangerine, pineapple, orange zest, some resin with sweaty almond touch. Taste is initially moderately sweet caramel malty, later more and more bitter hoppy, notes of grapefruit and orange, mandarine, some almond; even more bitter, biting, hoppy finish, super soft palate.
