Bottle at BrewDog, Bristol. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt with some spice. Body is quite full, medium carbonation, smooth. Bitter finish.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is thick dark malty and chocolate. Light alcohol presence. Smoked, dark maæty and light chocolate. Bitter and toasted dark malty finish.

Bottle shared @ Haket. Pours oily pitch black with a very small dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, sweet pumpernickel bread, dark chocolate, raisins, vanilla fuidge, caramel, sweet Indonesian soy sauce, liquorice fudge, charred wood and hints of caramelized apples, black pepper corns and bourbon. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, soot, pumpernickel bread, sweet spy sauce, moist soil, heavy charred wood, raisins, prunes, dates and hints of bourbon. Mouthfeel is oily, sticky sweet, round, tiny flat and near full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, pumpernickel, charred wood, vanilla fudge, raisins, prunes, liquorice fudge, coconut shells and hints of bourbon. Bit over the top but manages to still be quite tasty and quite intriguing.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma grapefruity and barnyard. Orange fruity and wooden. Barnyard and wooden. Lingering fruity and citric. Smooth, fruity and citric finish.

Nydelig duft av friske citrus frukter. Dunkel gulbrun farge. Tynt lag skum, noe heng langs kant. God frisk smak av citrus frukter med en anelse honning i ettersmak. Nydelig.

33 cl bottle @ home, another souvenir from our honeymoon in Denmark. Clear dark reddish brown color. Light beige head. Aroma’s: sweet(s), red fruit. Toffee and lots of (red) fruit retronasal. Flavor is rather sweet but also very fruity, sour even. Medium bodied, alcohol feel is rather strong. Finishes somewhat caramellish and with a light bitterness. Not convincing, but the bottle might have been a bit old (BBE Nov. 2017).

500ml bottle by the courtesy of Skinnyviking. Devil black body to a slowly diminishing brownish head. Lacing rings down the glass. Smoked malty nose, mid-sweet. Flavour of bacon and grainy chocolate. Bittersweet ending, long lived. Masked alcohol. A well-crafted, tasty brew. (Shared at the Absalon tasting, Copenhagen 04.05.2014).

330ml bottle by the courtesy of Skinnyviking. Fawn-coloured, bubbly head. Almost black body. Good lacing down the glass. Mid-sweet brown malts on the nose together with a touch of dried fruits. Ripe fruits, earth and brown malty flavours. Malty bitterness to the finish. Well bodied. Good drinking (shared at the Absalon tasting, Copenhagen 04.05.2014).
