Bottle. An unclear, dark brown beer topped by a dense, beige head of moderate size. The aroma is malty, boozy and quite hoppy. Pine cones, caramel, some oxidation, and a little meaty hint. Grapefruit too. It’s warming and full-bodied on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Citrus peel, caramel, pine cones, alcohol and roasted notes. Lasting bitter finish with too much warmth. Bottle. A clear, chestnut colored beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma has rubber, cooked vegetables, prunes, alcohol and a maltyness. Decent bitterness in the flavor, with the same unpleasant rubber and veggies found in the aroma. Prunes and some malts too. Full-bodied and with a decent carbonation level. Rather unpleasant finish too. Sure not a very successful one. 140416

Bottle. A black one, topped by a finger-thick tan head. The aroma has ginger, chocolate, coffee, licorice, cardamom and cloves. Really pleasant actually. Sweet flavor with chocolate and coffee dominating. Cardamom, cloves and ginger. Licorice notes towards the end. Full-bodied, lighlty warming and a tad sticky on the palate. Cocoa in the finish, with some cinnamon notes. A really nice one, but too spiced. Still I like it a lot. 140416

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Perfectly black, no head. Peppery nose with paprika and coffee. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Completely dominated by coffee and paprika. Warming finish. A novelty, but not much more.

Bottle from BrewDog. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is toffee, cherry, date, prune, plum, toasty and faint coffee. The taste is dark fruit, raisin, plum, date, wood, toasty, light tan, earth, cherry skin and toffee with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent fruit aspect. Easy going and pretty drinkable. Hides abv rather well.
