15 December 2018. Black Beer Fest, Ieper. Cheers to Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Hazy black, no head. Very intense aroma of praliné, fondant, milk chocolate, dough, brownie, hazelnut & peanut, pure chocolate actually and I won't hesitate to say that I've never experienced a chocolate aroma like this before. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, very nutty with hazelnut paste, brownie, milk chocolate, nut cake; countered by a light roasted bitterness, hints of roasted peanut, fondant, coffee & toast. Dry, herbal, slightly peppery hoppy finish, lingering nuts, toast, chocolate, warming liqueur alcohol. Full body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Impressive aroma, that much is certain, on the whole it feels a bit 'unfinished', could use more depth, but it has massive potential.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, light brown head. Aroma: Cinnamon, chocolate, booze, vanilla hints. Taste: Roasted malt, notes of dark and milk chocolate, cinnamon, spices, booze, Hints of biscuit and vanilla. Although there are a lot of flavours, none of them is overwhelming. Main taste still is the Imperial Stout. Moderate to medium bitter and sweet. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Although I'm usually not a fan of this kind of flavoured beer, this one is pretty nice.

Bottled 22-01-2018. Well hello! Obvious Omnipollo influences. Quite similar to Noa, little less synthetic but also thinner. Lots of chocolate, some hazelnuts.

Bottle. Color: Black, very thin light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, sweet chocolate, lightly boozy. Taste: Roasted malt with a lot of medium sweet chocolates, notes of caramel, hints of nuts and vanilla. A bit like drinking a whole box of chocolates. Decent bitterness coming in at the finish. Very lightly boozy. Above medium body, soft carbonation. Although I usually don’t like a pronounced taste of chocolate in my beer, this one is remarkably good. Not artificial, like so many other chocolate beers, in any way. Very well balanced. I think I have even overcome my fear for these kind of beers... Looking forward to Batch #2 of this brewery.
