Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy, deep golden with a neat and lacing off-white head. Very little aroma, perhaps a hint of diacetyl. Medium body, very sweet malt and fruitiness with next to no bitterness. I can hardly pick up any of the spices at all. 081025

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with an amber hue and a creamy and lacing beige head. Surprisingly discreet aroma considering the long list of spice additions, but the only one really coming through is the star anise. Fairly rich, sweet and very smooth body with distinct Belgian yeast accents. Licorice, soft roast and molasses before a warming finish. It's a sea of Xmas spices but quite well made. 081025

Good cream head, stable, over hazy reddish muddy brown beer. Sweet, rainwater, wet dog, brown candi sugar, breakfast yoghurt with sugar. Also caramel, suggesting sweetness. Taste however is more bready, again with some brown sugar, if way drier. Even brown bread with kernels. Light to medium bodied, but not empty, even bit chewy impression. Aftertaste sports some (CO²) acidity. Better than anticipated, not too sweet. Txs to Stef!

Slightly aged sample Medium, stable yellowish head over faintly veiled, finely carbonated copper (?) beer. Fruity (??) nose, peach, toasted (???) . Faint oxydation. Old leaves, autumn leaves, cookies, biscuit, nuts, slight oxydation. Omelette. Bit slick, medium carbonation, medium bodied. This is not bad. But if it is anything, it certainly ain't "Classic Pilsner".The oxydation might be (partly) responsible, but I doubt it. Txs to Stef!

Very good, cream-coloured head over redbrown, veiled, mahogany beer. Sweet, sweet almonds, sugarbread, nutty. Nutty, hint of coffee, oxydation in the most acceptable way, brown candi sugar or Wayland syrup. Breadcrust, and even some chocolate powder, Ovomaltine. Warming up, the taste becomes almost pure liquorice. Well bodied, quite slick, faint and faraway alcoholwarmth. Acceptable. Lot of real Belgian dark stronger beers aren't any better. Txs to Stef!

Short moment of rest, then furiously building up, huge cream-russet head. Red-shot black beer. Sweet, runny cheese, dry coffee, liquorice, toffee. Dry, liquorice, again cheesy - if more as old Gruyère than runny. Bit of ureum, mineral. Full bodied, bit chewy; very well-carbonated. Unremarkable strong , sweetish stout. Txs to Stef!

Small white head over lightly veiled, finely carbonated copper-orange beer. Wet dog, rainwater, putteke , bit fruity. Sweetish taste, metallic, wet dog. Again unspecific fruit. Sulphur retronasal. Bark, moss. Slick, but not very well-bodied. This is neither English IPA, let alone a West Coast. This is just a sweet ale. Txs to Stef!
