Description
Grolsch was first brewed in Groenlo in 1615 by Willem Neerfeldt. Peter Cuyper, son-in-law of Neerfeldt, was appointed master of the Grolsche brewing guild in 1676. Cuyper died in 1684, after which his descendants continued the business. Until 1876, the beer was brewed in the center of Groenlo. In that year brewery 'De Klok' built a new brewery outside the city. In 1895 it was bought by Theo de Groen, a descendant of a Zevenaar brewing family.
The De Groen family has upgraded the company from 1968 from a local brewery to an international company. Until 2004, Grolsch was brewed in Groenlo and Enschede. Since 2004, both locations have been closed and there is a new brewing factory in Boekelo-Usselo.
On 19 November 2007 the board of Royal Grolsch NV accepted a €816 million offer for the company by SABMiller. The takeover was completed with the delisting of Grolsch's shares on 20 March 2008. SABMiller subsequently sold the company to Anheuser-Busch InBev and in April 2016, the latter accepted Asahi Group Holdings Ltd.’s offer to buy not only Grolsch but also the Peroni and Meantime beer brands.

Klare goldgelbe Farbe, stabile feinporige Schaumkrone; in der Nase eher pilsuntypisch, süßlich hellmalzig mit etwas fruchtigem Hopfen; im Geschmack ebenfalls mit leichter Süße, getreidig-hellmalzig, eher milde Hopfenbittere. Insgesamt relativ fade.

Cloudy yellow pour, large white head. Aroma is sweet lemon, weird sweet malty grains. Mouth feel and carb is standard. Finish is sweet, and cloying. Weird fake lemony cereal flavour. This was rough.

pale straw yellow. small white head. grainy aroma, some slight hops, and a touch of maltiness. Flavour is quite light, almost wattery, but very crisp. Finish is also crisp, and leaves a slight lingering bitterness. THe carbonation is soft, i prefer my beers a bit more lively. Overall, this ain’t half bad. A decent quench beer.

golden body. good white frothy head. decent lacing. aroma of biscuity malt, and some vegetal/corny/grainy notes. Flavour is corny, some slight malt, and a touch of hops in the finish, there is also this odd ciderish flavour in there.....weird. overall, just a lager, ho hum.

i bet the majority of this beers sales is because of the bottle. Anyways......95% of the time the beer is gonna be skunk cause of that lovely green bottle. But when you are lucky enough not to get a skunk bottle you are in for a treat of tasteless yellow fizz! congrats!
