Draft at Dodging Duck Brewhaus in Boerne, TX. 7.6% ABV. 18 IBU. Very dark brown color with ruby highlights and a small beige head. Similar taste to an Extra Special Bitter, but with a flat mouthfeel. Light smoky flavor too. The 7.6% ABV is very well hidden.

Sampler at the brewpub in Boerne, Texas. ~ 4 oz pour. Pour is a hazed brown ruby, with not much of an off white head. Aroma is fresh toasted cereal grain, along with light fruit hoppiness. Fresh nose. Taste is the fresh cereal grain, toasty with the fruit sweetness of malt this time, with less of the hops than the nose. Turns mineral, and a touch dirty in the finish. Palate is medium to thin, soft fine carbonation - nicely drinkable. Well done version of a style that is not generally a favorite.

Sampler at the brewpub in Boerne, Texas. ~ 4 oz pour. Pour is cloudy muddy black brown with really no head. What exists is light tan. Aroma is soft coffee, roasted malt and pine hops. Fresh nose. Taste is gentle fresh coffee roastiness, blended nicely with the roasted malt and bright spruce and pine hop notes. Really nice integration and balance. Finish is mineral chalky, residual and lasting. Yum. Palate is medium to full bodied, carbonation is light and fine giving the beer a really soft feel. I really liked this beer.

Sampler at the brewpub in Boerne, Texas. ~ 4 oz pour. Pour is cloudy yellow orange white. Smallish white head. Aroma of cirtic lemon, wheat grain and grainy malt. Taste is a nice blend of the grain wheat texture, orange peel and the yeast notes of citric lemon, clove and banana. Palate is medium bodied, mouth coating, with a light dirtiness to the finish - though this dirtiness didn’t detract from the overall flavor. Easy drinking Hefe, nice.
