12 oz. can purchased at Molly's Spirits in Lakeside, CO. Thanks G-unit! Pours a super dark brown color with a small beige head and poor retention. Spots of lacing. Dark roasted aroma. Flavors of dark coffee, burnt chocolate and roasted malts/barley. More coffee flavor than I prefer. Medium+ mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Smooth.

Can from 2019 batch - pours a clear light ruby - like the others this year, it suffers from low carbonation, making the appearance and mouthfeel suffer - flavor wise, it’s the most subtle barrel treatment of this beer - the wine is fairly prominent, and there’s a light funkiness to it - spice and alcohol through the middle - starts dry and heavy on the wine, ends with richer maltiness and spice of the base beer - this one turned out pretty well.

Can from the new 2019 batch - listed at 10% - clear medium amber - fails to kick up a head - looks almost still soon after the pour - bourbon and oak are heavy in this one, but not overpowering - they couple with the rich caramelized maltiness fairly well, producing notes of baked apples and cherry - moderate spiciness and a warming finish - I like it enough - points off for the lack of carbonation and what it does to the appearance and mouthfeel.

Can from new 2019 batch - listed at 10% abv - hazy light amber - low carbonation only leaves a slight lace and leaves the body kind of flat and limp - taste is lightly tart and mildly acetic - comes across as fairly dry, especially for the abv - strong alcohol presence - light oxidation - moderate chard character and a touch of oak - a bit muddled and messy, and the limp carbonation just kind of compounds this - a little sweetness develops late the balance the acetic acid character - I was hoping for a lot more with this one.

10 ounce at the brewery - crystal clear light gold - dry, crisp, grassy, with a tail end tartness and light white grape character - moderate bitterness, light mineral character - finish is dry and moderately bitter - nice warm weather quencher.

10 ounce at the brewery - light, dry, roasty, with touches of smoke, chocolate, coffee - a moderate acidity and minerality on the tail end - well done.

Tulip at the brewery - turbid orange - a lot of tart earthiness in this, and loads of oak - a slight cheese rind funkiness - moderate port character with a boozy finish that also brings some slight acetic acid note - it’s a little messy, but fairly enjoyable.
