On tap at LauderAle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has a reasonable balance between roasted malt and piney hops — it's all coming across rather earthy though. Flavour is robust, with big roasted malt, bitter piney hops, and some earthiness. An anti-trend beer done quite well, especially for the time. Finishes dry, bitter and roasty. Good stuff.

On tap at LauderAle, pours a clear golden orange with a small beige head. Aroma has lots of bitter citrusy rinds, piney hops, some resins and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is much the same, with bitter resinous hops, pine, citrus rinds, and a sweet malty base. The balance is rather clumsy, with too much sweetness on the back and a somewhat harsh hop expression. Not terrible but needs work.

On tap at LauderAle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a weird, fungal, herbal hop character with a soft bready malt to back. Flavour is likewise strange, with a perfumey hop character that doesn't work at all. Is this supposed to be modeled after Pliny in some way? This misses all the notes.

On tap at LauderAle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has a nice medium roasted malt character, with gentle woody barrel character. Flavour has tons of wood from the barrels, with a dry roasted malt base. Not particularly heavy on the palate but it's dry and clean. I like it. This'll be “too thin” for the pastry bois.

On tap at LauderAle, pours a clear pale golden, no head. Aroma has lacto, passionfruit and a touch of apricot in good cohesion. Flavour is fruity with plenty of citrus from the passionfruit, apricot, lacto (not in the egregious yogurty way), and a touch of hay. Balanced well and properly constructed. Solid.

On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, cocoa, dark fruit, vanilla. Slick body, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coconut, vanilla, light dry finish, very good.

Pours black, small, darkly tanned head. Smell is full, vanilla, bourbon, mild oak. Taste is intense, barrel, booze. milder vanilla. Decently fullbodied, low AVG carbo. The vanillinec touch makes it nice, but it ends up still pretty avergae, and way to barrel focussed.
