Bottle from Bert’s labeled Cerveza Negra Pours a solid dark brown with clear ruby highlights at the edges and a huge creamy off white head that takes forever to dissipate. Aromas of molasses overwhelm me as soon as I get beer to meet glass. Hints of smoke, roast, and chocolate round out the aroma, but my God this smells like sugary unfermented molasses mostly. Wow the flavor does not stray from the aroma much. Sweet brown sugar and molasses run the show here. Light prunes and plums in the flavor as well and little to counter the malty or adjuct-y sweetness in this beer. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet thick sugary syrupy mouthfeel. I have no way to tell how old this bottle is but I suspect it may be less than fresh. That said the burnt sugar and molasses seem to be all this beer offers, it reminds me more of the barley malt sodas that I had in the Caribbean than actual beer.

Appearance: Clear golden color with a fine white head that ends up in a white laver, and leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Mild hoppy and mild malty.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a mild bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Fresh malty and light hoppy.
Overall impression: Plain decent lager. Quite fresh actually.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with andregoncalves

Very happy when I saw this one in a shop, but was slightly disapointed. Nothing wrong with the appearance - clear and golden with medium white head which quickly settles down. The aroma is very mild, only a bit of hops and dusty grains. The taste is nothing special - not bitter nor sweet, quite hoppy and almost too grainy. Also lacks a bit of bubbles to make it more refreshing. All in all, not very pleasant.

32 cl. (really?) bottle @ home. Procured from Sun Wah Supermarket in Antwerp. Bottled on 23/06/2013 (kudos for a macro brewer actually nothing this). Pours a clear advertising golden with a quickly disappearing white head. Nose is pale lager grains, some lemonade, artificial lemon, sweeteners feel, sugary, faint skunk,… Taste is soapy grains, pale lager, some metallic bitterness, hop extract, pretty nasty soap, artificial feel,… Touch sticky, touch higher carb. Not the worst as far as pale lagers go but this just another somewhat drinkable pale lager.

Bottle: Pours a bold golden color with streaming bubbles and a thick, fizzy off-white head. Not much to the aroma; sweet with lager malt, grass, grain, and a little metallic. The taste is sweet. Surprisingly sweet. Almost like corn syrup and grass come together with a really mild lager malt. Finishes crisp. Absolutely no way I would have guessed this at 7% ABV; very well hidden.

Grill 21, NYC 33cl ($6): Drank straight from bottle. Aroma is grain, corn, booze, and sugar. Taste is sweet and malt liquorish, but not offensive. Even the ass-end of this was drinkable and somewhat refreshing. As far as strong lagers go, this wasn’t bad at all. Yeah, the adjuncts were there, but the negative aspects, not so much.
