Description
A Providence, Rhode Island brewery focused on creating hop-forward craft beer and cask-conditioned ales for little Rhody.

At Long Live, we’re all about the beer – and chill taproom vibes. Our space is about community: where you’re bound to run into an old friend, or make new ones.
It’s all about the beer

We brew every drop of beer we serve here. We constantly evolve our menu because we never stop exploring what’s possible – and revisiting favorite profiles from the past. Most of our product is available only in the taproom – so come often to enjoy the latest.

We are hop-focused, but continue to explore the spectrum of styles that we love to drink. We’ve introduced over 40 new beers in 2018, and will be rolling out an expanded facility + barrel aging program in 2019, along with new partnerships and events that celebrate the collaborative nature of Providence.

US Pint can from Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is grainy, tropical citrus, mango. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a rich, smooth, fresh, juicy mango, pineapple, lime, light hop bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can from One Stop Market, Haverhill. Opaque dark yellow with ring of head and light lacing. Aroma is strong tropical fruit, citrus. Taste is strong lemony citrus, stone fruit, late cracker. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and dry, crisp finish as taste and crackery-bready, lightly bitter finish. An awful lot went into something that tastes relatively simple. It's fine and avoids being awful but overthinking it.

500mL bottle drunk 12/23/25, as pictured.
Lots of barrel and it's a good mix of both bourbon and apple brandy. Not too sweet, with a good deal of fudge and slight dark chocolate accents. Is there a touch of unrefined alcohol here? Perhaps, but that's about the only thing negative I can say about the nose. Otherwise, there's a great mix of fudge, char, roast and the adjuncts aren't remotely overdone. Not getting much, if any, lactose either.
Sweet, fudgey chocolate and peanut (ok, pistachio) with an apple brandy undercurrent and moderate bourbon spice. Rich, chewy, malty texture but reasonable dryness on the finish which is full of chocolate-cherry-vanilla and long caramel/toffee. I get a bit turned off by too much coconut in stouts, but it's really tasteful here. Only a slight aspect. Not boozey/sharp in flavor. But the bourbon and apple brandy are certainly stiff. And it's just a bit too sweet overall, after a handful of sips.
