Labeled as Vander Linden Frambozenbier/ Bière À La Framboise. Menu states 1994, label stamped best before Dec. 2000. Served straight from cellar. The cork comes out with a loud pop. Pours a clear amber color with a slight pinkish hue, and a medium sized sticky-icky head that never fully fades. Aroma is musky and lightly cork-y raspberry, I was surprised how much raspberry flavor is actually left. Taste is similar with more of a earthy-raspberry flavor and a slightly strong "corkiness" which may just be barrel. A nice light sweetness offsets the cork. A very velvety mouthfeel, which hides the carbonation on my tongue. Coats the tongue a little without interfering with the drink-ability of this beer. I got a bit of liqueur-ish feel from this beer. As the beer breathes the raspberry comes out more, especially the sour characteristics of the berry. No way does this beer feel over a decade old.

Bottle. Brown /red colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sour cherry. Flavour is sour, cherry, yeast, wood, raspberry. Very nice beer.

Bottle, 375ml. Vintage -90 or -92. A quite clear, reddish-golden beer with a dense, beige, minimal head. The aroma has berries, both cherries and raspberries, but it’s very weak. There’s sourness, a hint of almonds and something reminding me of coffee as well. Tart, lemony, fruity flavor with cherry and hint of candy. The raspberry and coffee found in the aroma was not evident in the flavor. Astringent, rather thin in the mouth. I never tasted it fresh, but it seems to be quite influenced by the years of cellaring, not in a negative way though. Wouldn’t mind having it again. (071228)

Vintage bottle. Hazy orange/red body with a thin white head. Aroma is fresh fruity, cherry and raspberry. Flavor is a bit vinegar sour balanced with red berries. Well made and refreshingly nice.

250 ml bottle. Red/brown body with almost no head. Quite fruity aroma with cellar notes. Flavor is dry bitter, a bit acidulous, with notes of caramel and dry fruit. A bit strange, traces of elements from a lambic, and also something from a Belgium red. Definitive a Belgium beer, harmonic but not usual.

Bottle (1990). Huge light pink head with excellent duration. Color is hazy pink. Aroma is heavy with cherry. Taste is sweet cheery and acidic.

Bottle. 1990 version.Frothy good mostly lasting ! head.Red-orange colour. Exploding powerfull cherry aroma and flavor. Lightly acetic and sweet and bitter. Really nice complex beer. Long nice finish. Oily palate. Wonderfull experience.

[Vintage 1990] Hazy red with no head. Cork soaked through leaving no carbonation. Flavor is mildly sour with natural cherries. Flavor is sweet and sour with cherries, the ususal lambic notes and a good complexity. What a treat!

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Comes as "Vander Linden Frambozenbier/ Bière À La Framboise". Pours a beautiful red with a tall, slightly pink head that leaves some lacework as it dissipates. A very traditional and hence sour framboise, but with quite some residual sweetness from the fruit. A weak tang of cork in the aftertaste. 180200

37.5 cL bottle around 1990 tasted in 2007. Pours hazy red/pink with a lacing white head. Slight mouldy aroma, clear sulphorish aroma and a very nice fruityness. Flavour is citric/acidic, great. Amazingly much fruit flavour. It is still decently carbonated. Tart sulphorish note in the finish. If I just had the patience to celler my lambics for 17 years....
