Thanks to BierKönig for a 250ml bottle of this one. It opens with a good shot and pours a hazy dark-red body colour under a thin white foam. Hay and a touch of bitter fruits in aroma. Taste of acidic cherries. Sour profile with a yeasty finish. Not my kind of beer, yet - but a bottle now and then might very well change my tasting priorities (Copenhagen, 03.08.2007).

Bottle, vintage 1997 @ Akkurat, Stockholm. Pours a hazy pinkish reddish color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty cherry aroma with some nutty hints. Sweet malty and tart cherry flavor with some nutty hints. Fruity tart sour finish with cherry hints.

Bottle 1992 (37,5 cl) @ De Heeren van Liedekercke, Denderleeuw, Belgium. Clear medium red color with a small fizzy fair lacing white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate raspberry, vintage, acidic. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, acetic with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is flat.

Leicht süßer Geruch. Minimal süßer Antrunk, dann leicht säuerlich (stärker werdend). Auch die Fruchtigkeit wird nach und nach stärker, insgesamt ist es aber ein mildes Bier. Süßer Mittelteil, was die Fruchtigkeit unterstützt. Im Nachgeschmack würziger, etwas saurer werdend, etwas bitter. Test vom 30.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,11,11,12,11

Bottled, original from Vanderlinden at least 20 years old, probably more. Cloudy amber, small airy head. Citrusy and vinegary lambicish nose. Very dry with lots of barnyard. The Brettanomyces is very evident. The body is light and the mouthfeel still lively. The acidity reaches near Cantillon-style levels. It is starting to thin out, going on it’s last few years as an alive beer, so it has a slight metaliic edge. Still it’s beauty is there, and the flavours are intense and complex.

(75cl bottle, shared by DerDoppelbock at a tasting session together with pivnizub) Hazy amber colour with a small creamy, slightly off-white layer. Dusty, sweet and tart-fruity (apple) aroma. Soft malty, restrained sourish-fruity taste with well-balanced notes of apples; slightly sweet, dryish, fruity and tart finish. Well-aged Gueuze (05.10.06).

Bottle (750ml): Hazy, amber coloured, small, quite stable foamy layer; sweat - that’s right in the nose, combined with citrus fruity and sourish aromas; moderate sourish flavour, slightly sweetish; sourish, slightly fruity and tart finish. Vintage 1990 - sampled 2006 at Le Bier Circus in Brussels. A hazy amber beer with a nice brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel as well as dust and cork. The flavor is lovely acidic with just a hint of sweetness and notes of wood, cork, and caramel. The cork notes made it stand out as somewhat old (no wonder), and my wine loving companion didn’t like it due to the cork, but I found the cork mixing in with the rest and to give it even more character. I really enjoyed the sourness, the years have eaten the sugar and made a single vintage gueuze?!? or is that a carbonated lambic? anyways a lovely beer.

Bottle, 25cl Hazy red, brown body. Off-white, fully diminishing head. Sour, fruity aroma with cherries, liquor. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish. Quite flat - probably due to the age.

A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is weird soru with notes of caramel and wood. The flavor is thin with notes of raisins, prunes, and wood, leading to a dry end.
