Verre, 4 onces, en fût, durant Foudres Unis, voyage avec Sébastien Bertrand, savourée le 11 août 2018; œil : bronze, limpide, pas d’effervescence, mince couverture de mousse beige, légère dentelle; nez : fumé, tourbe, boisé, malt, léger caramel, cognac (?); bouche : fumé, tourbe, boisé, malt, léger caramel, cognac (?), alcool, léger chaleur d’alcool, finale en caramel avec présence de tourbe-cognac, corps moyen, carbonatation légèrement sous la moyenne, moyennement sucrée, texture légèrement alcoolique; en résumé : très beau produit

Bottle: Poured a hazy deep brown color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some cereal notes and light oak presence is super enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix of caramelized sugar notes with some oak presence, some generous amount of residual sugar notes with a clean finish. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Nice to taste these kind of beers in the mass of IPA that we are currently seeing in shops.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy/hazy brown color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good carbonation and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized notes with some malt notes, some cereal and residual honey/molasses notes are also perceptible. Taste is a mix of cereal notes with some malt, molasses and honey with light toffee notes that are also perceptible. Body is full with good level of carbonation. Enjoyable Braggot with good drinkability which is surprising considering the ABV.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some chocolate notes with light dry raisins notes also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of roasted malt with some dry raisins notes and some chocolate malt notes are also perceptible. Finish is on the dry side of things. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation and no real alcohol notes are apparent. Super enjoyable IS and always nice to be able to try historical rendition of recipes.
