Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is big bourbon, a little bit of chocolate and more of that fruity complexity. On the palate, big rough barrel. Not the most refined treatment. I don't get maple in any sense here, though. That might have softened it up. The treatment isn't actually effective here.

296mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has some rough bourbon barrels that overtakes and a thin malt base. Flavour is dominated by the rough barrel -- that's all Buffalo Trace. Fairly dry -- the sugars are eaten up by the barrel, which is just not that pleasant. I don't get any maple. This is such a rough barrel character. I strongly prefer the base beer.

296mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has timid roasted malt, a hint of cocoa, and light sugars. Flavour has a nice sticky malt character, toasted malt, and some sugars. Thin-bodied, but the balance is good and I like the malt character. Good.

This is dark brown with a bit of haze. Thin head. This has a bit of fudgeyness on the nose, with a mellow fruitiness. OK complexity, not a ton of bourbon, and it's lighter than you'd expect for 10%

Poured from 296mL can (a bit active on opening). Clear brown with minimal white head. Ridiculous wood glue, hint of bandaid, some apple, veg, and booze. They really fucked up their (already average) barley wine.

Amber-brown, bright. Thin head. Smells dull and oxidized. The finest in cardboard boxes, fit for the most upper class of hobos. Touch of raisins. There's some acidity, raisins, more cardboard. Like that waxed cardboard you'd use for a box of broccoli. And yeah, that acidity in the back. This is an idea that did not work out.

296mL can, pours a cloudy dark amber / mahogany with a large, creamy tan head that doesn't recede. Aroma is quite unpleasant, with hot perfumey, sour apple, booze, bready caramel -- ugh, that is really unpleasant. Flavour is even worse, with sour fruits, perfume, vegetal notes, rotting apples, fuck me -- this is horrendous. How can you release such shit?

Poured from 296mL can (fairly active on opening). Hazed bronze with small light beige head. Honey and caramel upfront, mild toffee malt, lacks a bit of follow through in terms of the flavour. Okay.

296mL can, pours a cloudy dark amber / mahogany with a large, creamy tan head that doesn't recede. Aroma brings out dark dried fruits, brown sugar, and bready caramel. Flavour is rather muted, with bready caramel, dark dried fruits, some brown sugar, and some earthiness. There's even some bitterness on the finish. Rather muted, with a very bready finish. This is very underwhelming.

Small can. Amber, got some haze to it. Thick head. Ok, so it's sweet, and quite fruity. Moderate bitterness but even some hop character coming through. More fruity, toffee stuff in the finish. Just a touch of alcohol.
