On tap at The Barley Merchant, pours a clear amber bronze with a small white bead. Aroma brings out toasted caramel, bready malt, and resinous hops. Flavour is true to style, with resinous hops, toasted caramel, and bready malt. Balanced well, finishing with resinous hops and a nice caramel English malt. Very good.

473 ml can. Pours a dark copper color with light head. Aromas of grass, orange peel, resin and toasted malts. Flavors of pine, burnt citrus, grass, rye and dry toasted malts. Bitter. Tasty for the relatively low ABV.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 26/05/23; batch #836-7; 2023 vintage). Clear gold with small white head. Pils malt, nelson sauv hops, feint grape must, just a feint hint of oak. Enjoyable.

16oz shared with Phill @ Ryan's. Appearance: clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma: loads of hops, elegant dank, some oak, malty, a bit fruity. Taste: along the same lines, nice body, finishes with a sophisticated hoppy bitterness. Overall: nice one.

Poured from the tap. Cloudy yellow with minimal white head. Tangerine, vanilla, simplistic, some harshness, okay.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond colour, clean, medium head. The aroma is elegant, malt and mild stone fruit. Good body, bready malt base, mellow; ok bitterness (could be more), some spirit, warm, not the character from Nelson, but interesting nonetheless; I like the juicy malts.

473mL can, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with wonderfully tangy Nelson hops, along with white grape skins, crisp biscuity malt and maybe a touch of oak. Flavour is impressively bright and vibrant, with huge Nelson hops, Sauvignon blanc grape must, and a touch of oaky wood. That grape… damn. This is a massively vibrant mega pils. The Nelson combines beautifully with the grape and oak to produce a wonderfully hoppy and crisp pils. Wonderful.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick patches of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready pale malt, passionfruit, green grape and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of biscuity pale malt, green grape, lemon and floral hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Tasty and refreshing.

Gold colour, effervescent, with a medium head that falls fairly quickly. Aroma is interesting. You can tell it's in the pilsner family, but also that it's different. The vinous notes stand out. Soft body, a fair bit of pale malt, solid with the alcohol, and the sauv blanc lends fruitiness, and some sugars. The barrel combines with the alcohol to dry it out, lest it finish too sticky. For me there are no high notes, but it's a solid effort, and going in the experimental direction, they obviously thought through some pitfalls in advance.
