On tap at Old Abbey, pours a cloudy bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel malts upfront, followed by lots of tropical fruits and lots of sweetness. Flavour is very fruity and sweet, with melon-like hops, tropical fruits, and caramel malt. Sweet but not cloying, a little messy, but inoffensive. Okay, but needs work.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a cloudy blonde with no head. Nose brings out candied lychees and medicinal sweetness. Flavour is even worse, with is sickly sweet, with medicinal sweetness, artificial lychee, and a candied sweetness. Total fail here - sickly sweet, artificial and one-dimensional.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out citrus, vegetal notes and some weird nasty sourness. Flavour isn't as offensive but it is harsh, with lots of alcohol, perfumey hops, some citrus and a light sweet malt backing. Harsh but drinkable and not too offensive. Needs work.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light roast, followed by Belgian yeast and a little cereal sweetness. Flavour is along the same lines, with light roast, a touch of tartness, and saison yeast. Light residual sweetness and some weird varnish notes. Okay.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a cloudy deep dark red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out notes of resinous hops, caramel malts and dry bready malt. Flavour is quite bitter and vegetal, with a weird tartness, a very herbal vegetal quality and an astringent bitterness. All sorts of off-flavours and undesirable astringencies. No good.

Flavour is along the same lines, with caramel malt, sweet candied notes and light resinous hops, all within a Belgian yeast profile. Not bad, maybe a bit sweet, but it works okay.

Flavour is revolting, with nasty acetaldehyde, perfumey hops, varnish and light tartness. Embarrassingly terrible. How can you sell this?

Murky blueberry juice look, large pink head. It has more beery character than sour beer, and enough sweetness, very juicy drink, not the most complex fruit sour, but a very good drink. I like it

The color is near black, opaque, it has almost no head. Mild aroma of roasted malts. Some dark caramel flavor, nothing in the flavor indicates Imperial Stout, fairly unsweet, and with some sourness.
I guess they wanted or unwanted to sour-ferment an Imperial Stout, and they got a Sour Imperialish Stout that shouldn’t please the Sour beer lover, shouldn’t please the Imperial Stut lover.
