Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

Courtesy of douglas88. Pours clear deep gold with copper hues and nice full off white head. The aroma has nice notes of sharp citrus hops of grapefruit, tangelo and pineapple as well as modest notes of malt roastiness in the background. The taste has rich citrus hops on top and roasty malts and mild malty sweetness underneath. Very solid pale ale if not a superior IPA.

Courtesy of douglas88. Pours hazy gold straw with white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is yeasty spices, red and green apples, pears and a touch of sourness. The taste is carbonation enhanced spicy yeast and sweet apples rolling into sweet pears. By midway a modest level of herbs mixed with a light sour to tart green apple note create a pleasing complexity. Cool brew.

Courtesy of douglas88. Pours deep mahogany with thin copper edges and tall tan head. The aroma is musty dark roasted malts, a touch of chocolate and a bit of burnt malts. The taste is smooth with a brief pulse of caramel malts quickly moving into dark roasted malts and a thin ribbon of burnt malts. After a few ounces a touch of smoke comes to the surface adding to the experience.

Bottled at The Beerhive, Salt Lake City, UT. Cloudy pale amber, rich firm head. Generous hop aroma: pear, peach and grapefruit. Medium-full bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Rather sweet with lots of citric hops. Staying well shy of getting cloying or inky. Long citric bitterness.

Bottled at The Beerhive, Salt Lake City, UT. Dark brown, rich firm head. Mild coffee aroma. Mid sweet with soft, well defined maltiness. Coffee and mild caramel, mildly hopped. The rather subtle flavours in this porter can blossom, thanks to the excellently well crafted malt profile, where the gentle softness allows full access to the slightest whisper of flavour.

Courtesy of douglas88. Bomber pours clear gold with full off white head. The aroma is floral hops, spicy hops, grainy and sweet lager-y-ness. The taste is similar with plenty of spicy hops to go along with some floral hops, grainy malts and sweet lager-y yeasty notes. The sweet notes try to pile up into the finish but the noble hop bill fight it off nicely. Interesting brew.

Courtesy of douglas88. Bomber pours hazy copper with tall frothy tan head. The aroma is malty and pine with grapefruit like citrus around the edges. Smells like a solid IPA. The taste is similar with a nice thick rich mouth feel pushing up pine and some sweet malts, grapefruit, spicy hops and a bit more pine. Nice stuff. I could drink a boat load of this.
