Dark brown. Thick head. Chocolate nose with some acidity and toasty malt complexity. Soft, rich cocoa notes. Well-balanced. Nice porter.

Bottle - thanks to Footbalm. Pours a glowing brownish copper color with a large, creamy beige head. Nose is sweet and fruity hops and heavy with pine resin. Great indication of the goodness to follow... Tastes hop forward with citrus, pine, and modest florals. Some caramel. Wet mouthful and a great finish. Simple; lots of bitterness and drinkable to no end. First rate. If this were readily available for me it would replace milk.

22oz bottle picked up from Epic today
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy dark amber with a nice beige head and good lacing left in the glass
Aroma: Wow! Smokey, caramel and oak
Taste: Smooth mouthfeel. Tastes like a smokey scotch. Smokey, scotch, vanilla with a strong smokey finish
This is a great beer. This would be great with a nice cigar!

22oz from the Epic
Appearance: Pours dark mahogany with a nice beige head and a good amount of lacing left in the glass
Aroma: Pine, caramel and citrus
Taste: Smooth mouthfeel. Pine at first then malts with hop bitterness in the finish
I like this beer, another example of Epic’s great beers. They state ~40 IBU’s, but it seems like more.

22oz bottle from the brewery
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy straw/yellow with a nice sized white head, some lacing left in the glass. Lots of carbonation bubbling up in the glass as the head dissipates
Aroma: Citrus, sour apples and spices
Taste: Mildly tart fruits, honey, grainy and sweet malts, with a tart finish
This is a very nice beer. Clean, crisp and very refreshing. It has just the right amount of sourness, not over the top sour.
