About
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

Bottle shared at the Beau in London tasting, last group tasting for 7 months - who knew, thanks to Dave 11/03/20. Pitch black with a solid tan cap. Nose is chocolate, coffee, roast malts, charr, spice, mellow brandy barrel. Taste comprises chocolate, good coffee vibes, vanilla, light black peppery spice, brandy barrel, roasted bite. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid.

Jet black with a decent light brown head. Whisky, barrel and some nice chocolate. The taste is very similar, with a nice richness and a bitterness to balance. Well done.

650 ml bottle. Aroma cacao nibs and coffee. Flavor shows a strong character of both the cacao and the coffee. Barrel is low but does show on mild rum nuance. Body is medium plus no alcohol burn anywhere. That’s why they say don’t age, drink fresh. If you have this drink it right now!

Bottle pour from share from AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black with nice viscosity, ring of beige head and trace lacing. Aroma is strong earthy roasted malts and toffee. Taste is strong coffee, cacao nibs and whiskey with hint of coconut rum. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation, no alcohol presence and finish as taste. Overall, maybe held too long so barrels have faded a bit but other adjuncts are enjoyable.

bomber bottle. Blackish pour with a small beige head that soon fades away. The aroma is medium in strength with dark chocolates, anise, molasses and dates. The flavor is complex and features blackened grains, chocolates, dark fruits, bit of coffee and some black pepper on the finish. The palate is full and viscous. Paired well with some Bellavitanno espresso cheese.

Nut brown with an orange hue and a medium sized foamy head. Sweet, tangy and malty with molasses, honey and dark fruit notes. Medium finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth.

Bomber from the Utah State Liquor Store in Cedar City, Release #2, 11.6% ABV. Nose is very heavy raspberries, astringency, dark chocolate, and just a hint of vanilla. Black with a medium, heavy lacing, cinnamon tan head. Flavor is semisweet chocolate, tart raspberries, and a little sweetness. Not as good as I hoped.
