Description
Small dogs with big dreams. The Stray Dog Brewing Company is more than just beer; we represent the spirit of adventure and the courage to pursue the passions that enrich our lives. Many people choose to give up on their dreams because of fear of failure, but yearn for something more. Metaphorically, a lot of us feel chained up in one form or another. These chains can be the result of external forces or self-imposed. The symbolism of a Stray Dog is the will to break free from these chains and venture out into the unknown. It represents freedom and defiance of a life of confinement and taking the risk to do something great even if it means leaving the security of the current life you’re living. The road ahead is unknown, but you’ll never know what possibilities lie ahead unless you venture out.

A touch of haze, amber colour with a nice frothy-creamy, even bubbly light-beige head, good retention and some webbing creamy lacing. Smoked, burnt malt aromas with some fruitiness and hints of nuttiness. The mouthfeel is fairly flat with just a tad dryness that builds in the finish. Caramel malt flavours with again, the fruitiness and light nuttiness. Apples, caramel and some decent hop grassiness in the end taste. A nice ESB that has a little more alcohol.

Dark brown colour with copper highlights, a big light-beige head, frothy, very good retention and some foamy-creamy lacing. Coconut aromas with chocolate malts. The mouthfeel is lightly oily, not too thick with some good dryness that starts off quick enough. The taste is mostly the chocolate malts with a touch of coffee bitterness (even though not any like the previous beer I rated). Hints of vanilla is present though out, blending nicely with the rest. Easy and effective.

Dark brown with some light copper-ruby highlights. A big beige head that is frothy, slightly creamy, everlasting and leaving some foamy-soapy lacing. Coffee nose with some chocolate malt base, notes of roasted barley, dark fruits, vanilla and nuttiness. The coffee really stands out nicely as it breathes. It also blends well with the hops, which gives a grassy and lightly bitter taste. So, the coffee does not stand out as much in the flavours, but still an easy-drinking coffee dry Impy stout.

A slight hazed, light golden-yellow colour with a white frothy cap, average stay and some spots of lacing. Straw malt base aromas with some balancing citrus lemon and herbal notes. The mouthfeel is on the thick side for a light beer, but decent hops help in the finish. Flavours are stronger for the style, with a nice blend of the biscuit malts, citrus hops and light grassiness. Quite a nice light straight-up beer!

Hazy golden colour with a big frothy-creamy warm cap, very long stay and leaving some thick foamy-soapy lacing. Loads of citrus in the nose with lemon-orange zest, mild orange juice and oats blending things. The lemon zest sticks out more in the mouth, than the juices. Light tart from the citrus peel. Not much bitterness, but enough dryness in the finish. A beautiful-looking hazy IPA with lots of citrus zest going on, over the typical juiciness.

Lightly hazy golden-orange colour with a nice bubbly-frothy white cap, good stay and some creamy-bubbly lacing. Orange juice aromas with lemon zest, and other citruses, with hints of grassy hops. The herbal grass continues into the flavours with some good hops over the citrus base. Refreshing, crisp, a touch of bitterness, mild tart and dryness. A really nice hazy-juicy and grassy IPA.
