About
Small dogs with big dreams. The Stray Dog Brewing Company is more than just beer; we represent the spirit of adventure and the courage to pursue the passions that enrich our lives. Many people choose to give up on their dreams because of fear of failure, but yearn for something more. Metaphorically, a lot of us feel chained up in one form or another. These chains can be the result of external forces or self-imposed. The symbolism of a Stray Dog is the will to break free from these chains and venture out into the unknown. It represents freedom and defiance of a life of confinement and taking the risk to do something great even if it means leaving the security of the current life you’re living. The road ahead is unknown, but you’ll never know what possibilities lie ahead unless you venture out.

Hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy warm cap, decent stay and nice thin lacing. Citrus peel and light juices for aromas. Some nice spiciness, warming in the taste. Mild dry finish. Some good bitterness from the citrus zest. Not the juiciest NEIPA, so if you like some decent bitterness with that - here it is!

Can: Poured a black color stout with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light residual sugar notes is pleasant. Taste is a good mix of light roasted malt with some light residual sugar and a semi-dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. A little bit sweeter then style standard but enjoyable beer nonetheless.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy dirty yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge sweet hoppy undertones of citrus and tropical fruits is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by huge tropical hoppy notes with some citrus notes with quite a bit of residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid double NEIPA – I will have to investigate this brewery further.

Can: Poured a bright yellow/orangey color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral hoppy undertones of citrusy and light tropical notes is very enticing. Taste is also a mix of floral hoppy undertones of citrus and tropical notes with faint residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. I had no expectation but this is actually a great IPA which showcase a lesser known hop varietal.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge chocolate notes with light residual sugar is enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of black chocolate notes with some residual sugar notes and subtle roasted malt notes also perceptible. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no perceptible alcohol notes. Enjoyable Baltic porter but maybe a tad sweeter then I would have liked.
