Since we were children, we’ve yearned for our own special place.
A cardboard box fort; a cubby under the stairs; a flashlight under the covers. As we grew up, we slept in tents under trees. We bought campers and took road trips. We rented cabins in faraway places and gathered with friends. We made memories.
The humble cabin represents the ultimate escape. A home away from home. A respite from the stresses of work and the regularity of everyday life. A place to be yourself.
Cabin Brewing Company embodies that feeling. It is a place to make new memories. It is your new special place.
Relax. Take a deep breath. Drink great beer.

Dark amber. The aroma is full of nutmeg, and vanilla, and it's light that in the palate, too. Quite sweet, so much nutmeg. The base beer is kind of getting crushed here, but was it good? To me, the base isn't enough to carry the sweetness.

Ok, so the appearance is lacking in darkness. There's some reddish-brown stuff, thin head. There's a bit of toastiness, though it smells like it'll be too thin. Okay body, some coffee, maybe caramel on it. It doesn't come across like an imperial stout to me, a more general strong ale. There's some alcohol in the finish, and there's also a bit of nuttiness.

500mL bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Nutmeg, vanilla, and bourbon barrels on the nose. Flavour has a ton of nutmeg, some notes of vanilla, lactose, excess sugars, and maybe some dry bourbon barrels floating along. Not good.

355mL can. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Bready malts and brown sugar on the nose. Flavour has brown bread malts, some crusts. Nice hoppy bit and a full body. Nicely constructed imperial stout.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is dry, with toasted nuts, dry cocoa, and some earthy bready malt. Flavour is very malty, being sweeter than expected, with toffee, caramel, cocoa, toasted malt, and a touch of toasted nuts. Finishes lightly sweet, bready and caramely. Solid.

Pale yellow, and hazy. Medium head. Fruity, apricot and orange hop notes. Good body, splash of alcohol…7% right on, and thankfully made at Cabin. Magnum for proper bitterness. Well-balanced, the malt allows the bright and fruity hops to shine.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy yellow with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves sticky curtains of soapy lace. Sweet aroma of grainy wheat malt, coconut, orange, mango and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy wheat malt, coconut, lime zest, mango, grapefruit, pineapple and light piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Delicious. If you love coconut, this is a must try!
