Hazy, dullish pale. Medium head. Mandarin, grapefruit aroma, and palate, with a fair bit of bitterness. This one’s not actually that bad…doesn’t come across like a hazy.

On tap at Port City, pours a clear dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma has lots of clove, esters, and toffee. Flavour is quite spicy, with big clove, some cinnamon, lots of sweetness, esters, and dark dried fruits. Not authentically Belgian at all — way too estery and not carbonated enough. But not too bad.

On tap at Port City, pours an amber-tinged dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out gentle, dry cocoa powder, and some toasted malt. Flavour is thin, with light cocoa, a touch of tartness than doesn’t seem intended/desirable, and a toasted malt base. Thin but easy-drinking. Okay.

On tap at Port City, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has quite an earthy character, with a somewhat sweaty hop character and dry bready malt base. Flavour is a bit better, with grassiness, bready malt, and some earthiness. Finished bready and dry, though a bit sweaty. Pleasant.

On tap at Port City, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has crisp piney hops, crisp biscuity malt, and a touch of citrus. Flavour is crisp and clean, with a nice bitter piney hop punch, crisp biscuity malt, and a hint of melon. Piney and bitter in good west coast fashion. Real solid.

Dullish pale, sort of an overripe fruit. Some alcohol, vague malt, hop character is okay. It’s fine.

Hazy, sort of a dark peachy colour. Overripe fruit character, lowish bitterness, okay malts. You can drink it, but it’s like overripe canned peaches.

Looks like oxidized dried apricot. The aroma also brings a fair amount of stone fruit sort of jammy. On the palate it’s got a fair bit of malt, good body, and that same hop character, maybe with some pears. Decent. The thing is that it’s a bit murky…elements not clear and mostly that’s too much yeastiness for the malts.

Reddish-amber, thin head. Sort of a plasticy phenol character. Some dried fruit, lots of alcohol. Somewhere between a sticky tripel and an uncomplex quad.

473 ml can. Pours a reddish brown with moderate head. Aromas of caramel malts. Flavors of bread crust and bready malts with a bit of metallics.
