Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate and bourbon notes with some light hazelnut notes also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of bourbon and vanilla with some chocolate, light residual sugar and some hazelnut notes. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Enjoyable and easy drinking BA stout.

(355ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours black with a small pale brown head and minimal lace. Aroma of heavy maple syrup, brown sugar, candied pecans, toasty earthy notes but not really coffee per se. Flavour is very sweet and sugary, lots of maple butter and brown sugar, pecans, light roasted malts, some earthy brewed black coffee notes that build into the finish, maybe a little lactose but it’s hard to pick out from the maple. Quite light bodied for style, thin and watery though a bit oily with very soft carbonation. Nice flavours here if a bit sugar-sweet even for a maple praline stout, but the body is lacking which makes that sugar a little more acutely cloying. Solid.

Accents de torréfaction, gâteau au chocolat, arômes de cerises sont les principaux éléments de cet olfactif tout à fait malté. Liquide noir et opaque avec un semblant de mousse pétillante à l’extrême qui ne tient pas du tout. En bouche, c’est torréfié et sucré comme un gâteau au chocolat avec une bonne pointe d’alcool malgré son faible taux. Des accents de cerises, de chocolat au lait, de mélasse complètent ce tableau sucré à l’extrême. Une pointe d’épices (poivre, gingembre, cardamone) complète le tableau de la forêt noire. La finale totalement sucrée se laisse trainer de longues secondes en fin de bouche déclassant ainsi toute amertume de torréfaction. Trop sucrée à mon goût. Pour les amateurs de sucre intense. 12oz (thx, Alex M.-G.!) @ home. Nothing about BBA on the can. Part of the description and ABV matche, though. Appearance: almost black with a nice beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, some sweetness and inky sourness. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: not sure where is the coconut in this one, some very slight notes maybe? Not sure whether it may be on the initial stage of the infection, as sourness is quite weird. Or maybe it's coming from the roasted malts. Still quite good beer.

Can: Poured a murky opaque brown color stout with a small brown foamy head with not much retention and no lacing. Aroma of fresh grilled peanuts with some sweetness and light acidic notes. Taste is a mix of fresh grilled peanuts with some sweet chocolate notes and some acidic notes that ore or less fits with the other flavours. Body is super full with some chunks and some creamy body with medium carbonation. Interesting experiment but unfortunately the acidic flavours kind of ruined it for me.
