Canette 473ml. Couleur brune foncée opaque, mousse moka foncée fugace. Arôme de framboise, gâteau forêt-noire, boisé, sucre légèrement caramélisé. Goût de chocolat noir, framboise, boisé, faible acidité bien dosée, légère amertume. Carbonatation faible, corps moyen-dense.

(355ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours . Notes of dark chocolate, caramel, moderately roasted grains, hazelnuts, minerals, soft wood, hits of bourbon vanilla, rather sweet up front and semi-dry on the finish, soft alcohol, finish is chocolate and nutella with some woody, roasted accents and a little booze warmth, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied, semi-slick with soft carbonation. Lacks some of the malt heft of their non-adjunct BBA impy, not too heavy on the pastry vibes either, quite drinkable.

(355ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours murky near-black with a small tan head that leaves some lace. Notes of deep dark malts with a lot of caramel and toffee, molasses hints, burnt grains, char and smoke, some nice wood, semi-sweet dark chocolate, nuts, very soft bourbon character with some vanilla accents but mostly in support of the malt, the semi-sweet sip finishes slightly drying with roasted and burnt grains and wood, light hint of alcohol. Medium bodied and oily with quite soft carbonation. Impressive non-adjunct BA stout that is built around malt more than barrel.

I should like this but something about it puts me off.
